The 70th closed on Saturday 8 February, very late at night Sanremo festival, with the victory of Diodato which brought the point to an extremely dense edition of events, controversies and surprises. This is the Auditel data of the final: 11477000 viewers with share of 60.6%. An absolute record in terms of percentage (the highest figure after 2002). In terms of net spectators, the final went better than that of 2019 conducted by Claudio Baglioni (but worse than that of 2018).

Here are the details. The first part of the final, broadcast from 21.32 to 23.52, was seen by 13638000 spectators with the 56.8% share. The second from 11.59pm to 2.00am was followed by 8969000 spectators with the 68.8% share (the last 36 minutes are therefore excluded from the data). As for the other networks, on Channel 5 the film Un’Estate ai Caraibi collected 1,520,000 spectators (6.2% share). On Rai2 NCIS was followed by 961,000 spectators (3.7%). On Italia 1 Ruby Red II – The sapphire secret registered 345,000 spectators (1.5%). On Rai3 Braveheart – Heart Fearless collected 620,000 (2.5%). On Rete4 Scent of Woman – Women’s perfume totaled 385,000 viewers (1.7%). On La7 Dove dare le Aquile it was seen by 349,000 spectators (1.5%). On Tv8 Paura in Volo collected 216,000 spectators (0.9%). On the Nove Frankenstein Junior it registered 267,000 (1.1%).

In Sanremo 2020 Diodato wins

Diodato is the winner of Sanremo 2020, with the song “Make noise”. In second position Francesco Gabbani was classified with “Viceversa”. To close the podium are the Nuclerary Tactical Penguins, protagonists with the song “Ringo Starr”. On stage, alongside the conductor Amadeus, Fiorello, Sabrina Salerno, Diletta Leotta and Francescas Sofia Novello.
