NAPLES. With the "Capri Legend Award" to Sofia Loren scheduled for Monday, December 30th, "Capri, Hollywood – The International Film Festival" enters the quarter of a century of its extraordinary history. The 24th edition of the great festival of international cinema, which in the middle of winter (December 27 – January 2), involves the big-screen and music, is announced in the sign of women; chairpersons director Francesca Archibugi (in the picture), president of the Israeli artist Noa, godmother of the Italian-Cuban model Maylin Aguirre.

A bridge event between Italian and American cinema, founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini with the Capri Institute in the world, "Capri, Hollywood – The International Festival" traditionally inaugurates the season of global awards for the Golden Globes (5 January) and the Oscars (9 February).
The event is dedicated to the memory of the director, screenwriter and actor Gillo Pontecorvo, supporter of the first hour of the festival, on the centenary of his birth.
And there are very many award-winning films in the event's program which includes over 70 free screenings of previews and reviews, even for the little ones, in the halls of Capri and Anacapri. Beginning with the opening film "Little Women" by Greta Gerwig (Sony preview December 27, International Cinema of Capri) already nominated for 2 Golden Globes, Christmas film in the US, with a super-cast (Saorise Ronan, Emma Watson , Laura Dern, Timothee Chalamet and Meryl Streep) will be released in Italian theaters on January 9th.
WOMEN AND CINEMA. Collecting the indication of the honorary president of the Festival Lina Wertmüller, expressed the night of the Governors Awards in receiving the Oscar for the career "Capri, Hollywood 2019" will be dedicated to "The role of women in the film industry and gender equality". PREVIEWS. After the opening of the festival with "Little Women", awaited the previews of: Dolemite is My Namedi Craig Brewere American Factory by Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar (Netflix), "The Last Full Measures" by Todd Robinson and "Arctic Dogs" ( animation) by Aaron Woodley (Notorious), Incitement "by Yaron Ziberman, with leading actor Yehudi Pahari Halevi, and" Legacy "by Dorian Boguta, in the presence of actress Madalina Ghenea.
SPECIAL PROJECTIONS. EXHIBITIONS. Two exhibitions are scheduled: at the Casa Rossa in Anacapri (granted by the Archaeological Superintendency, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Naples metropolitan area), in the presence of Cheryl Boone Isaacs and Marina Cicogna the exhibition will be inaugurated on December 28 (3.00 pm) with scenic sketches, photos and costumes of "Pinocchio" from Matteo Garrone's direct film starring the Oscar winner Roberto Benigni, in theaters from 19 December. 30 images selected by the director himself, exhibited to the public for the first time, and the Pinocchio costume, created by Massimo Catini Parrini and on loan from the Tirelli tailor shop.
At the Certosa di San Giacomo (granted by the Polo Museale della Campania), instead, the photographic exhibition "My Divas" by the maestro Roberto Rocco, will be inaugurated on December 27 (at 3.30 pm) by Francesca Archibugi and Elisa Amoruso. It consists of 30 photographs: raised at the school of legendary director Franco Zeffirelli for the film "La Bisbetica Domata", Rocco has established himself between the Peninsula and Hollywood as one of the most important operators in the photographic image. A milestone that has made it one of the most coveted targets of artists from all over the world, such as Lina Wertmüller, Sophia Loren, Lucia Bosè and Claudia Cardinale, along with Julia Roberts, Monica Bellucci, Angela Bassett, Micaela Ramazzotti, Jaqueline Bisset, Valeria Golino, Cameron Diaz, Nancy Brilli, Liv Tayler, Imogen Poots, Amy Stewart, Asia Argento, Madalina Ghenea, Iman, Lina Sastri, Valeria Solarino, Claudia Gerini, Shannon Kane, Carol Alt, Laura Chiatti, Miriam Leone, Theresa Russell, Martina Stella, Margaret Madè and, dulcis in fundo, the directors Francesca Archibugi and Elisa Amoruso.

PRESTIGIOUS PAST, AMBITIOUS FUTURE. In 23 editions, Capri, Hollywood has established itself in the world as a viaticum for the promotion of Italian cinema in the world, of world cinema in Italy but above all of fundamental milestone in the race for Oscars. In this segment, the first artist to benefit from this was the Australian actor Geoffrey Rush who in 1996 landed on the island with "Shine" and then took the stage of the Academy Awards and picked up the coveted statuette.
