The second edition of "Filming Italy Sardegna Festival" directed by Tiziana Rocca, which will be held from 13 to 16 June at Forte Village and at the UCI Cinemas of Cagliari, was presented at Cannes.
The event, included among the collateral initiatives of the prestigious French festival, was attended by Eva Longoria, Maria Giuseppina Troccoli, director of the Cinema and Audiovisual section of the MiBAC Cinema Direction, Chiara Sbarigia, APA general director, Roberto Stabile, Head International Department ANICA, Steven Gaydos, Executive Vice President and Variety Executive Editor, Guglielmo Marchetti, President and CEO of Notorious Pictures, Giorgio Viaro, director of Best Movie, Annabelle Belmondo and Catrinel Marlon, respectively opening and closing godmother, and Madalina Ghenea godmother of the evening of solidarity.
Guest of honor Werner Herzog to whom the "Filming Italy Award Cannes" was presented, a prize awarded during the most important international festivals to world-class personalities of culture and entertainment.
"A second edition in the sign of doubling and sustainability. Double rooms, with the Crystal Cinema and the large Arena of Forte Village open to all for free. The number of films on the program is multiplied with a schedule of about 30 titles in a selection that includes also 5 works chosen by Variety, in the artistic committee of the Festival – emphasizes Tiziana Rocca – because we want to offer the public of Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, especially that of young people, films in preview but also documentaries, short films and TV series with the intent of bringing new generations closer to the big screen ".

The opening film of the Festival and the Italian premiere will be "Domino" directed by Brian De Palma, shot in part in Sardinia, with actors such as Nicolaj Coster-Waldau and Carice Van Houten, both protagonists of Game Of Thrones.
Domino will be released in Italian theaters on June 27th distributed by Eagle Pictures and follows the story of Christian, played by Nicolaj Coster-Waldau, a cop from Copenhagen who, in a world devastated by terror and suspicion, seeks justice for the murder of his colleague by Imran, an ISIS soldier.
The event, dedicated to Cinema and Television, will again take place this year in collaboration with APA, the Audiovisual Producers Association chaired by Giancarlo Leone and with the general direction of Chiara Sbarigia with the support of Forte Village and in collaboration with UCI Cinemas and with the Patronage of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Municipality of Cagliari, ANICA and the Costa Smeralda Consortium.
Many of the characters present in Sardinia during the 2019 edition and among the first names announced at Cannes, those of Francesca Archibugi, Paola Cortellesi, Claudia Gerini and Riccardo Milani also stand out.
Among the internationals, Eva Longoria will inaugurate the event on June 13 in Forte Village. Longoria became popular with Desperate Housewives and is currently involved in the pre-production of her debut behind the camera with the 24-7 comedy she performed and also produced with Paul Feig and we will soon see her in "Dora and the lost city" by James Bobin, a family that in the cast together with the actress sees the presence of Benicio Del Toro, Michael Peña.
Two panels will be presented in collaboration with APA, DG Cinema MiBAC, Italy for Movies, ANAC, ANICA, ANEC, ITA: "Moviement: cinema does not go on vacation" and "The appeal of the Italian audiovisual product in the international market" to which the major Italian and international producers and broadcasters will participate.
On the occasion of the important presentation, the President of the Region, Christian Solinas, greeted the world cinema at the Cannes Film Festival during these intense days in Cannes.
